Good Growth DeKalb protests Walmart at Suburban Plaza on August 10, 201LEGAL BATTLE ENDS

With increasingly limited legal options in our lawsuit against DeKalb County over the Walmart building permit, we made the decision to accept an invitation to meet with Selig Enterprises, owner of Suburban Plaza. On April 17, we came to an agreement with Selig, which includes numerous gains for the community.

This was a difficult decision and a difficult process but, while we continue to believe a Walmart is wholly unsuited to this location, our legal battle is now over.

We are tremendously grateful to all who have stood with us during this long fight, rallying in all kinds of weather, gathering petition signatures, attending meetings, volunteering at fundraisers and much, much more — and for our many donors, large and small, who have enabled us to work to make our county and our neighborhoods a better place to live, work and play.

We are very proud that, together, we’ve built an organization that is a recognized presence in DeKalb County, a force to be reckoned with, and part of a movement spreading all over the country to encourage smarter, community-friendly development.

Please make a contribution to Good Growth DeKalb to help us meet our legal bills and continue our work fostering good growth in our county >
